Wizard Staff Prop by RawringCrafts Wizard Staff Prop by RawringCrafts
I haven't done any prop work in forever and it was about time I finally finished this project.

It's a wizard, or shaman staff, inspired by the glowing staff of Gandalf the Grey.
I made it from a branch I found lying around in the woods. The crystal on top is massive selenite which is lit up by 3 high powered LEDs. The battery case is covered by a leather flap.

You can buy the cut-to-wand-size version here: [link]

No.

There isn't really any way to ship it that wouldn't be insanely expensive

What if you cut the staff into 3 segments, and used double sided screws to reform it onces it arrives, or you could make and sell just the upper staff assembly that would be easy to ship and put on any staff. You could even make it so the assembly has belting or draw strings to secure it to the staff.

Isn't selenite typically transparent?

Also, you may want to consider putting a seal like varnish on the crystal due to how easy selenite scratches if you haven't.

Well, PURE selenite is transparent. This one is naturally grown and is very fibrous.

And yeah, I chiseled off all hard edges and then liberally coated it with matt varnish ^_^
